Compliance Department

Jicarilla Department of Labor’s responsibility is to ensure all Oil & Gas Companies are in compliance with the Nation’s Indian Preference Ordinance and its requirements.

060 General Employment Program

The General Employment Program hiring is in accordance to the Nation resolution of 45 positions. Addressing training requests for each (060) hourly employees that are assigned to different Tribal Departments.

Employee Assistance Program

Employee Assistance Program is to provide confidential short term counseling to tribal employee's problems and when appropriate, make referrals to an outside organization or program that can assist the tribal employee in resolving his or her problem.

Youth Employment Program

The Jicarilla Apache Nation youth Employment Program will facilitate and provide available jobsites within the Nations departments or enterprises, which will guide and develop youth employees job skills, good working habits and experience needed to secure employment within the Nation or the outside job market. It also will aid in the understanding of how the Nation’s job market operates.

Jicarilla Student Residence

The Jicarilla Student Residence provides staff coverage for a 24-hour, 7 days a week home living program that can house 64 students grades 1st-12th. The Student Residence program provides residential services such as tutoring, meals, transportation, recreation and staff training.

Workforce Investment Act

To provide Native American Indians, Alaskan Natives, Native Hawaiians residing on the Jicarilla Apache reservation with employment and training activities consistent with requirements set forth in the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), section 166 regulations at 20 CFR part 688, in the Federal Register. The WIA program will be administered in such a manner, to maximize Federal Commitment to support growth and development by representatives of the community and groups served by this act and this section.
